font size on collection letters

This probably isn't a question you get often, but does the "30 day receipt of notice, dispute the validity of debt..." does the font size required by law have to be the same font size as the body of the collection letter?

Pinnacle collections - is this a collection agency?

20 years 7 months ago
I need to check on this company. I have been hospitalized for a smashed tibia and fibula. Things have been crazy and one of my bills made it to this collection agency. I told them I could start paying them in three weeks. Then I had a woman call me and tell me I didn't take make this agreement. I then thought it was a different company and new I couldn't make another payment of the same size and told her I could pay a smaller amount. Then she told me I had already made an agreement of the original amount. I then realized she was lying to me.

Protect Yourself from Identity Theft

20 years 7 months ago
One of my friends recently became a victim of identity theft. As a result I have become interested in how to protect myself from the same fate. I've found some good software (firewall and virus protection) and lessons on personal internet securtiy and how to prevent identity theft and what to do if you become a victim. I hope this information is useful. Thanks for allowing me to post on this forum. Audrey

Part of this Storey is in this Thread: http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/forums/about197.html Here is why I titled this thread as I dd. The storey starts when my wife and I decided to Rent to Own a Musical Instrument for our son while in Band at his middle school. Payments were resonable, and if he later didnt finish band, we were not stuck with a costly "decoration" on display. Our payments were going to be abour 46.00/month including the insurrance. Just wondering..

20 years 7 months ago
I'm 21 years old, and owe a round about figure of $20,000. $17.000 of it is for a car that I dont really like. But anyway, I was wondering if anyone else here was a little eerie of giving your bank information and such. I really need help paying my debt {almost all of my credit cards are now in collection agencies  } but I'm apprehensive about signing on the "dotted line" so to speak. Any help or information would be greatly appreciated.

Does the SOL start when???

20 years 7 months ago
Hello, I had a vehicle lease in Florida... had problems with the vehicle.. dealer refused to fix them. I broke the lease, and had them get the car. Car new was worth $21,000... Huntington Bank (leaser) wrote off 18,000, and now collection agencies say I owe $10,000. My question is : Does SOL start when I broke the contract.. or when it was written off by the bank.... or what? Last payment I made was 2 months before they picked up the car. If last payment is deciding factor, then SOL is up... if Write Off is factor.. then SOL is good until September 2005. Thanks, Charlie

how to use ones debt as a tax benefit?

20 years 7 months ago
I just joined and have looked around a bit and have not found a spot where you discuss how to use one's debt as a tax benefit. Whether there are or aren't benefits I would like to know if i can reduce my taxes or take an additional deduction for having been gotten into debt. Thanks, icfrivolity

Do I get any tax benefits if I get a loan with an interest payment?

20 years 7 months ago
I've been lucky so far with getting the 0% offers on credit card transfers, but I have this $20k debt that I really want to pay off (first sign of maturity!) So the question is do I get any tax benefits if I get a loan w/ an interest payment versus continuing transferring my debt around to credit card companies? Any suggestions would be helpful Icfrivolity
