I recently received my credit report to find i owe money to Jefferson Capital. I called the number on the report but it said it had been disconnected. The account is still open. How do i pay them debt if i cant talk to them?

I found this story very interesting, no matter what your circumstances are if you have a will there is a way and debt is no exception either. An old man lived alone in a village. He wanted to spade his potato garden, but it was very hard work. His only son, who would have helped him, was in prison. Wanted to explain the difference between SOL for reporting and SOL for collecting debt. It would be best to not think of SOL for reporting as more then just the expiration period when the debt comes off of the credit report. Here is a run down on reporting periods: [list=1]

I think you need to divide the threads into 2 parts. One part for people to ask questions and another part for articles, primers, etc. Because one helpful aspect of this site is that people can view the answer to a question that has already been asked.
