I have $28,000 dollars in unsecured debt, I have been making monthly payments on time but, I know that I need some type of relief because after making those monhly payments I have little or no disposal income. I call on a debt consolidation Non-profit organization and they quoted me a price of 1,466.37 monthly (for 48 mths for total payment of around $67,00 dollars), it is out of my range. Is this the norm for monhly debt consolidation repayment for $28,000?

First of all, I thought I posted this a few minutes ago but never found the thread so I'm trying again. I apologize in advance if this shows up twice. Over the weekend I put in my information for someone to contact me. I've gotten a call/message from United Christian Financial. Is that a result of filling out the form here? I see this is called "debt consolidation Care", is that not an actual company? By filling out the form here where does my name go?

I filled out the online registration thing over the weekend and it's my understanding someone is to call me. Is it someone from "debt consolidation Care" that calls, does the information I put in go out to other companies and it could be any # of companies that call? I got a call from United Christian Financial and I'm wondering if they are calling from what I filled out here....Can anyone clear this up for me? Thanks!

Hmmm, well I know I am not the only one, I received 3 letters so far, from them, looked up the address and found who this is. I am not in debt to anyone, but the name on the letter is my exhusbands wife, with MY address on it. I called the 800 # and they say they have the new address and hang up. So did the wife give my address, what are they doing? I called postal inspectors and they can do nothing as long as my name is not used, but they can use my address? Something is just not right!

Do creditors view this as a type of bankruptcy?
