Hi - I posted some questions earlier, but I have one more. My American Express Blue account has been turned over to Collectcorp (even though it was just 45 days past due). They have never said that they purchased the debt from Amex, only that they were collecting the debt for them. They wanted the entire balance immediately and said that they would have to get approval from Amex for any payment plan.

Well it seems I got in over my head again with loans and credit cards. I was wondering if I can consolidate my bills into just 1 payment and get some intrest rate cut off (I'm paying over 15% on 7 credit cards and on 1 loan). My debt is $18,050 and pay about 570 a month. I am not behind at all, pay early in fact and most of the time a tad more. My fica is only 640ish (went through bankrupcy in 96, before I was married,and done paying on that 3 years ago) My husbands FICA is about 650-660 I think. What should I do??????? :?

Hi I have lived in the U.S. since 1997 and have recently gotten letters and phone calls from a U.S. collections agency regarding some debt I have in Sweden. The debt is 10 years old and I just want to know what they can do to me here. Have no plans to ever move back. I had originally desputed the debt in Sweden but didn't get anywhere. Now they are asking for an amount that is just out of this world and I just don't know what to do. Thanks

I keep hearing about how good debt consolidation is but what I want to know is if creditors really look at this as a positive thing? I've heard that eventually when your credit is better creditors are hesitant to give you more lines of credit after seeing you've done the program.

Is there a minimum amount to be considered?

I was contacted by United Christian Financial through your site and they wanted over $4,000 up front and would not pay any creditors for several months. What is up with that?
